QC Technician (Nights) within Chemical Manufacturing

A position has become available for a QC Technician working the Night Shift with my Globally recognised client based in Liverpool.

Key Responsibilities:

*Proactively carry out quality control procedures on product samples to ensure high quality product can be shipped to the customer on time.

*Carry out full evaluation and assessment of products during all stages of production, exercising knowledge, judgement and making decisions on whether a product can be passed or modified.

*Take responsibility for Quality issues, working collaboratively with fellow QC Technicians and other departments to understand root causes of issues and offer solutions to ensure that they do not reoccur.

*Support Structured Problem activities within the business, offering valuable input into solutions.

*Proactively look for adherence to standards and identify improvement opportunities within all areas of the business.

*Verbally communicate with production supervisors and management giving instant updates of production status.

*Record all evaluation results in an orderly manner using the QC computer system, so that full quality control and tracking can be ensured.

*Carry out customer sample requests for the sales force and Customer Service department.

*Maintain reflective work practice, highlighting when and how to improve the QC process or quality systems, or increasing response on production times.

*Manage own Continuous Professional Development to ensure constant updating of experience and knowledge of technical and production issues. Identify opportunities for your own and department development to assist the business and you reach full potential.

*Ensuring work is carried out in full compliance with Health & Safety rules.

*Working collaboratively within QC to improve Workplace Organisation using the 6S methodology

Key Skills:

*Preferably educated to at least GCSE standard in maths and sciences, with excellent numerical skills, Any previous experience of working in a Quality Control laboratory in a coatings or colour related industry would be an advantage.

*Able to use wide range of laboratory equipment and be able to show excellent computer operating skills.

*Able to assess colour differences by eye and by colour computer and make adjustments accordingly.

*Show strong problem solving skills - able to think outside the box when getting to the root cause.

*Excellent attention to detail. Able to work methodically and systematically in a timely fashion to process samples as efficiently as possible and be familiar with computer data entry systems.

*Flexibility and commitment to making sure the job is done.

*High level of communication skills. Able to clarify what is required and be clearly understood.

*Able to work with minimum supervision.

*Key Behaviours:

*Tenacity; own issues to determine root cause and ensure that solutions are delivered to the business.

*Thirst for Knowledge; understand and challenge the 'why' behind everything that we do to drive continuous improvement into the business.
