The Salvation Army is looking for a passionate, proactive and influential HR Advisor, for a temporary 8 week assignment starting on 16.01.2017, to cover the South of England, working 30 hours per week. In this pivotal role, you will provide HR support to a dedicated area, ensuring the consistent delivery of HR strategy, initiatives and policies by educating and empowering local managers. Whilst the role is likely to be home based, there may be an office-based option located in Fareham, Hampshire, there will also be a requirement to travel to centres throughout the South of England.

You will ensure the delivery of service level agreements and will expertly advise and assist on areas such as workforce planning, recruitment, employee relations and absence management - minimizing risk, identifying problem areas, and recommending corrective action. You will also coach local managers, support the development and implementation of HR policy and practice, and deliver training in all areas of employment legislation.

The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate:
* Associate Membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
* A background of successfully advising and coaching line managers on HR issues and employee relations matters
* A knowledge of employment legislation and codes of practice, and experience of recruitment, selection and interviewing.

* Experience of employee relations casework and of delivering HR training.
* The ability to work to tight deadlines and to thrive under pressure.
* The ability to show compassion and respect when resolving complex issues and to work within the Christian ethos of the Salvation Army
* Strong IT and interpersonal skills
