Deskside Engineer - Cork - 26k

*Based on a customer site, the candidate will provide desktop support, working to established SLA's
*Build and deploy PCs, patch network points, support standard software packages, according to current procedures
*Organize daily workflow using call logging system to respond, update progress and close out reported incidents and requests.
*Work on a kiosk desk where customers can bring desktop problems to you and ask advice.
*Work with remote support towers to resolve issues that require a multi-tiered approach in order to resolve incidents
*Candidate will need to demonstrate that they can work well in a team environment
*Some time flexibility required when work activity demands it
*Backup tape management
*Vendor management for supporting under warranty hardware; PCs, printers; handheld scanners, AV equipment
*Mobile device support; Blackberry, iPhone, iPad
*Working in a regulated environment, the candidate will need to be consistent in following safety and operational procedures
*Good communication skills in all areas; phone, email, person to person

ESSENTIALS SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

*At least 2 years' experience of working in Desktop support role.
*Strong Troubleshooting and Analytical skills as well as excellent multi-tasking abilities required.
*Very strong customer facing skills.
*Excellent working knowledge of MS Windows 8, XP & MS office applications.
*Ability to work effectively under pressure.


DESIRABLE SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

*Knowledge of Citrix, Internet Explorer based applications
*Infrastructure support e.g. switches servers, patching, etc.
*iPhone, iPads support
*Microsoft qualifications would be useful, but are not essential
Multinational support experience
