Manpower is recruiting for a Design & Technology Technician on behalf of our client located in Cambridge. The role is Permanent, and based within the Public Sector.

Key Tasks
*To prepare bespoke sets of materials for individual examination candidates as required.
*To use online systems to prioritise workload and delegate to other technicians
*To offer learning support during practical classes.
*To assist pupils to set up and make safe and proper use of machinery, ensuring health and safety requirements are always met.
*To assist pupils in metal work and / or textiles.
*To ensure risk assessments and C.O.S.H.H. are up to date
*To support the teaching staff by helping to ensure consistent and efficient use of the pupils' time.
*To maintain the use of safe, secure, working practices ensuring the safety of pupils and colleagues.
*To undertake an active role in health and safety issues by demonstrating and promoting safe working practices during practical classes.
*To help maintain a secure working environment for pupils and colleagues by adhering to School policies and procedures.
*To send/receive emails when required and act on them appropriately.
*To use the computer controlled laser cutter/milling machine and 3D printers as necessary while assisting pupils.
*To be responsible for and keep an annual log of machine maintenance.
*Some flexibility will be required during term time

General Tasks
*To ensure that a safe / secure environment exists for pupils / staff and customers and meet requirements under the Health & Safety at work Act 1974 and C.O.S.H.H.
*To uphold the provisions of the Data Protection Act 1998, understand and be mindful of the School email / internet policy / code
*To work at all times within the policies, procedures and ethics of the School
*To observe / implement all relevant legislative requirements, maintain and update own knowledge as appropriate for the role
*To undertake any other reasonable associated request from the HoD or a School SMT member and in support of the DT Department and the Rugg Centre
*To adhere at all times to the Schools Child Protection procedures and to undertake responsibility to safeguard pupils
*To be aware of and adhere to at all times the School code of conduct and confidentiality
*To refer to and adhere to all Health and Safety procedures and policies as appropriate and other legislative requirements as required, carrying out duties by working in a safe and organised manner.

Essential requirements
*The right candidate should be able to demonstrate working in a similar role or environment.
*Be competent with machinery and materials used in the workshop.
*Demonstrate previous examples of working with pupils.

Shifts: Full Time. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (22- 30 hours per week)
Salary: £15,439 - £17,815 Per Annum, Plus benefits
