Our Client is a global life sciences company committed to improving access to healthcare and supporting the people we serve throughout the continuum of care.

The client is looking for a security officer on a temporary basis to provide a highly professional Security service to their Holmes Chapel site by ensuring that the companies employees, facilities, equipment, products and documents are protected at all times from damage, injury, security breaches and loss.

Description of Role:

Site Security:

* Ensure the security of all employees, property, equipment, products and documentation.
* Operation of Access Control, Intruder Detection and CCTV equipment
* In/Out of hours operation of switchboard, all calls vetted and screened
* Booking in and issue of site passes to visitors, contractors and deliveries
* Management and control of protesters/demonstrators
* Handling and screening of external post deliveries to site, incorporating use of X-Ray machine
* Monitor Critical Alarm Systems e.g. Stability Suites, Server Rooms etc.

Site Emergencies:

* Respond to all Site emergencies
* Act as out of hours Duty Manager/Roll Call Officer
* Liaise with Emergency services
* Manage site communications during an emergency situation
* Responsibility for the review and approval of nominated Security Operating Procedures
* Monitor Critical Alarm Systems e.g. Stability Suites, Server Rooms etc.

Emergency Aid:

* Provide emergency First Aid assistance in the event of a medical emergency
* Full Certification will be required in First Aid, Automated External Defibrillator and Oxygen Therapy skills

Risk Control:

* Carry out safety/physical/environmental inspections of designated site buildings, doors, access control card readers and Security KPI's
* Report and respond to potential Health, Safety & Environmental risks and conduct follow up checks to ensure appropriate action has been taken.
* Conduct Risk Assessments and develop Security SOP's
* Maintain and monitor the site lone worker alarm
* Maintain and test the site mobile gas monitors

Fire Systems:

* Provide additional fire safety management support during any detection or fire prevention systems impairment.
* Out of hours control of Fire Panels

Desired Requirements:


* Required to meet the standard company selected aptitude tests, Maths and Literacy.
* Possess a recognised Security qualification (SIA, IPSA, NVQ )
* Must have a flexible approach to work patterns to meet department needs
* Must have a full clean driving licence
* Trained First Aider


* Proven customer service skills with the ability to deal with a broad range of customers and customer needs
* Must have worked for at least 2 years in Industrial Security or Police
* Working knowledge of HSE issues
* Working knowledge of security systems ( Access Control, CCTV etc)

The role:

Hourly rate of £12.24p/h raising to £13.17p/h after the qualifying period.

11 Weeks shift pattern:
- 1-2 weeks - 7am to 3pm Monday to Friday
- 3-11 weeks - 2pm to 11pm - 2 days/2nights - 4 days off.
- After 11 weeks - 2 weeks off.
