We have an exciting opportunity to recruit an Onboard Support Engineer for our Client based in Portsmouth. You will be responsible for encompassing a pro-active and reactive approach to delivering solutions and processes, with maximum effect and efficiency to both the team and the Customer.

The role will be varied and will involve liaising with the Customer and Customer agencies as site representative, conducting system testing and setting to work activities and providing feedback on problems, issues and design constraints to the technical authorities.

Other responsibilities will include assisting with the resolution of 1st line defects, presenting acceptance events to MOD or Service Authorities and conducting fault diagnosis on systems.

Ideally you will come from a defence IT background with the ability to work under pressure in a highly visible environment. You should have in-depth working knowledge of Windows Server platforms (predominantly Windows Server 2003) and experience in Virtualisation (VMare) and Active Directory/User Account Management.

The successful candidate will have experience in Microsoft Exchange and LCS Messaging Support, Desktop Infrastructure, ITIL Foundation, San Storage Management (NetApps), SQL Server Administration and SharePoint Implementation and Administration.

This role will be based in Hook with travel to Vessels and other sites as required.

Due to the nature of this role all applicants must be SC Security Cleared.
