Our lovely client have recently moved to St Albans from the City. They are a very successful peer to peer lending business with solid expansion plans. We are now supporting them recruit for an Operations & Reconciliations Assistant to support their Operations & Reconciliations Manager. You must have at least 2 years experience in a similar role, and advanced Excel skills.

Purpose of the role:
*Complete daily tasks involved in operating a P2P lending platform, including internal and external reconciliations, investigating exceptions, and liaising with the customer service team and other departments.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

*Assessing and effectively managing and mitigating risks associated with our business model
*Ensuring all loans are set up, settled and administered completely through to maturity
*Identifying key controls and then to develop reconciliations to mitigate operational risk
*Automation of reconciliations where possible
*Generation of exception based reporting
*Developing metrics identifying key risks for presentation to Senior Management
*Ensuring the veracity and quality of all data recorded on our loans CRM and back office systems
*Participate and add value to various internal meetings
*Ensure as part of the key controls that interest payments to investors are made correctly on the due dates by performing an interest payment reconciliation with follow up on any discrepancies
*Ensure that all investor monies received is promptly banked
*Manage Anti-Money Laundering queries and liaise with customer service team to resolve issues
*Testing internal systems upgrades and improvements

Key Skills Required

*Intermediate Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
*Strong Microsoft Excel experience - pivot tables, lookups etc. (Demonstrable)
*Some Database and good overall systems knowledge and understanding
*Salesforce and/or Sagelive experience desirable
*Good data manipulation skills
*Experience in operations including reconciliations, AML and payment processing
*Good communications skills
*Experience in controls and systems reporting
*Attention to detail: all work must be completed with the focus on quality and accuracy
*Strong Planning & Organisational skills
*Time management: must be able to prioritise and manage time and tasks effectively
*Application of regulation: must gain an understanding of FCA regulation and be able to apply this to the business requirements of the firm.

Hours of work 9am - 5.30pm Monday to Friday.
