Senior Track Welder - £23,679 (Shift allowance nights and weekends at 35% uplift)
OVERALL PURPOSE:
Responsible for carrying out Track Renewals welding duties, in accordance with Group Standards and Line Specifications relevant to the Contract. Undertake Thermit welding as directed by the Track Welding Supervisor and Manual Arc welding when required.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES OR MAIN TASKS
1.Responsible for carrying out Thermit welds as required.
2.Inspection of Thermit Welds as required.
3.Carry out MMA weld repairs as directed
PERFORMANCE CRITERIA
1.Sound knowledge of Aluminothermic and Manual Arc welding procedures
2.In depth knowledge of Permanent Way component parts.
3.Knowledge of Rules and Regulations, Safety Procedures, HASAW and other appropriate statutory regulations.
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS
Qualifications & Experience
1.PTS, COSS, POS and SWL1 essential. PC desirable. Others as agreed with Welding Supervisor and as specified in the Core Competence Profile.
2.Successful completion of Track Welders course
3.Able to drive or willing to learn.
4.Good inter-personal skills.
5.A minimum of 3 years experience in Permanent Way work.
