The Systems & Project Engineer role will act to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the in-house Microsoft based systems that support core organisational functions. This is achieved by monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimising the infrastructure and associated systems.

As Systems & Project Engineer, you will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems. Working as part of a wider team you will architect, design, implement and support a verity of IT systems. Experience in writing documentation is highly desirable. This candidate must possess strong interpersonal, business and technology skills that enable them to engage at all levels, as well as manage tasks on engagements of varying size and durations. Ideal candidates will be experienced in IT consulting with a holistic understanding of the IT operations within a business organization.

In addition, you are able to quickly adapt and to work in a team-based environment and self-manage. Candidates are required to have direct, hands-on experience performing the following responsibilities.

This role requires a highly capable Systems Project Engineer that can be adaptable to change as business demands.

Responsibilities
*Responsible for the completion of long-term IT projects.
*Performs engineering design evaluations and works to complete projects within budget and scheduling restraints
*Develops, implements, and monitors information systems policies and controls to ensure data accuracy, security, and regulatory compliance
*To maintain, upgrade and repair faults on computer systems, networks and peripheral equipment, including the logging and management of all help desk requests for assistance through to resolution.
*To carry out routine preventive maintenance and service analysis on systems in order to provide uninterrupted service to users.
*To maintain standard configurations for all IT equipment and systems, including associated documentation and procedures.
*To provide support to users.
*To assist the business unit team members with any activities within their competency.
*Support users in the use of Computer equipment by providing necessary training and advice.
*To provide accurate and timely management information in agreed formats.
*Providing Level 3 server hardware & software resolution service
*Be responsible for leading project and maintenance tasks, updating peers and documentation
*Development and promotion of continual improvements in the Safety, Health and Environmental culture.
*This role will involve carrying out work in Sowerby Bridge, Thame, Oxford and potentially other locations globally

Qualifications essential for the role:
*A levels or higher qualification
*MCSE\ MCITP EA certified

Additional Desirable
*Degree
*MCDBA

You will already have experience in:
*Knowledge of Microsoft based operating systems with emphasis on Windows Server 2008
*Extensive experience with one or more of the following:
oMicrosoft Active Directory
Microsoft Exchange
Microsoft System Centre Products
Microsoft Hyper-V
*Extensive Experience with Cisco networks
*Extensive Experience with Firewalls, filtering and security management

You hold the desired traits in the industry to succeed:
*Full project lifecycle experience from design through to operation of a Group network, servers and Computer rooms
*Experience with Avaya phone systems
*ITIL certification or experience of working to ITIL best practice
*Project Management Experience


You hold the skills & ability to:
*Active Directory Design
*Group Policy Design
*Windows System Centre
*Strong Proven documentation skills
*Network and server security, anti virus management, Active Directory, Exchange, file replication, SSL VPN
*Strong organisational, negotiation and multi-tasking and time management skills.

*Experience supporting NetApp Storage Arrays.
*Experience supporting SQL/Oracle
*Experience supporting Microsoft System Centre products
*Experience with Web/Email Filtering Systems
