Junior Chemist

Manpower is partnering with a leading chemicals manufacturer in their search for a Junior Chemist. To be based at their facility close to Newton Aycliffe, the Junior Chemist will be integral in providing external customers and the wider manufacturing business with technical support.

Built on a reputation for high-quality products, the business offers a diverse portfolio of innovative specialty materials. At their North East site, they manufacture a range of products that are used by some of the world's leading names across multiple industries.

As Junior Chemist, your responsibilities will include:

*Modifying existing products to meet customer requirements
*Formulate and develop new products
*Providing technical expertise to other business functions such as Production, Quality and Regulatory
*Provide technical expertise to customers when required
*Taking part in New Product Development (NPD) projects
*Conducting testing and analysis on products including raw materials
*Meeting with new suppliers to troubleshoot issues or recommend changes
*Identifying, evaluate and recommend new product/raw material suppliers

This role presents the chance for a Junior Chemist with commercial lab experience to develop their career within a true market-leader who place great emphasis on the development of their employees. They are looking for someone that can build on their skills and experience which should already include;

*Degree education within Chemistry
*Experience of working in an industrial laboratory environment (post-graduation)
*Proven experience of formulation
*Experience of participating in R&D/NPD projects in an industrial laboratory
*Some knowledge/understanding of coatings and sealants
*Good customer-facing skills
*An innovative mind-set with the ability to think creatively
