Health and Safety Manager

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Health and Safety Manager to develop their career at our client, which is based in Glasgow.

The successful candidate will be an exceptional safety professional with experience of developing and implementing service strategy and with the ability to lead team members to implement these aims.

The Role:

Supporting the Head of Health and Safety in the development, maintenance, monitoring and reviewing of the University's Occupational Health and Safety management arrangements

Playing a key role in the design and delivery of the University health and safety training and HASMAP Audit process, and supporting the achievement and maintenance of the University external certification and the transition from OHSAS 18001 to ISO45001

Providing a strategic lead for the Health and Safety Service in line with Service and University strategic plans, supporting strategy development and driving forward a consistent approach across the Hub

Ensuring delivery of an excellent, effective, customer focused and professional health and safety provision within a Hub which includes managing and leading a team of safety professionals The Candidate

Chartered Membership of IOSH or equivalent Institute

Recent experience as a health and safety specialist in a large and complex organisation with a range of risk scenarios

Extensive up-to-date knowledge and understanding of the UK health and safety regulatory framework and current best practice

A scientific degree and the NEBOSH National General Certificate are essential. NEBOSH Diploma, or equivalent, is desirable and support for study can be provided.
