Our client is a highly successful Manufacturing business, which boasts a significant global market share within its specialised industry sector, is now seeking Health, Safety & Environmental Advisor to join their expanding site in Greater Manchester.

Please note this role would be within a commutable distance for candidates commuting from Merseyside, St Helens, Wigan/Leigh & Warrington. Onsite and highly secure parking is available for the successful candidate.

This role would be an excellent opportunity for an HSE Advisor, NEBOSH diploma qualified and ideally with a minimum of 3+ years' experience within a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have aspirations of being part of the Senior Leadership team on site. Rather than just "overseeing general Health & Safety" our client is really seeking a 'game-changer' keen to provide support across all levels of Health/Safety/Environmental matters to ensure continued performance and adherence to all company policies and management systems, and compliance with UK Health & Safety Regulations and Environmental Regulations.

ROLE OVERVIEW

  • Support the implementation and control of EHS policies and Company Management systems to promote awareness, compliance and responsibilities of all employees.
  • Administrate and maintain EHS procedures to ensure they are reviewed and updated per company and/or legal requirements to ensure they are current and valid.
  • Control EHS documentation including training and assessments for traceability.
  • Monitor and report on all H&S KPI's as well as undertaking all day to day HSE duties.
  • To advise, assist and conduct audits to ensure that effective EHS is implemented and working
  • Assist with maintaining the Site Emergency Plans & Procedures.
  • Review accidents and incidents for correct reporting and corrective actions, providing trend analysis.
  • Assist with and conduct incident investigations in relations to accidents and incidents on site.
  • Maintain working relationships with Regulatory Agencies and chair or co- chair and lead the Safety Committees for the Operation.
  • Assist with the management and implementation of the Industrial Hygiene plan across all departments on site.
  • Support site EH&S training plans with responsibility for new employee inductions.
  • Lead the on-site Medical Surveillance program including developing medical schedule and liaising with the provider to ensure completion of medicals.
  • Support the management of litigation activities, liaising with Insurers, Brokers and Legal teams.
  • Provide daily advice and guidance to employees and supervisors on EH&S programmes Perform safety coaching in relation to safety hazards and behaviours during facility tours and audits.

REQUIREMENTS

  • NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent.
  • Health and Safety experience in Manufacturing or similar industry
  • Knowledge of legal/working requirements of UK H&S at Work.
  • Understanding of UK Environmental legal/working requirements
  • Auditing skills
  • The ability to understand and analyse complex information and present it simply and accurately.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others.
  • Strong attention to detail.
