An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation. Our client, a blue-chip IT company, is currently seeking 6 Data & BI Analysts based at their Leading Software customer site in Newbury. These are a full-time, temporary roles for 12 months to start ASAP


Our client is a leading infrastructure software company with global scale. The Group is the seventh largest software company in the world, the largest technology company listed on the FTSE and the largest UK technology company listed on the New York Stock Exchange. They specialise in managing predominantly mature infrastructure software assets which have been delivering value to significant numbers of customers over long periods of time.

We are therefore looking for Candidates to assist our client in the Data and Business Intelligence domain who have experience in playing key roles on similar size and scale programmes. Working in a dynamic fast-moving environment, the candidates should be self-starters, able to provide perspectives and guidance based upon a proven track record of delivery. Preferably experienced in directing and challenging System Integrators.

Key Role Responsibilities:

  • Consult with business managers to determine how to use data to provide useful analytical solutions (for example, to assess effectiveness of marketing programmes)
  • Gathers and documents business requirements, identifies and prioritises desired results and provides an understanding of the opportunity or problem.
  • Publishes, distributes and ensures sign-off of the Business Requirements Document and controls all changes through a formalised change request process.
  • Develop analyses around emerging business challenges / issues and provides usable information to senior decision-makers
  • Creates models to identify, validate, document and communicate requirements and organize them into a comprehensive and understandable "to-be" state.
  • Tests solutions to validate whether requirements have been met. Develops functional & UAT test plans, test scripts and test conditions based on the Business and System Requirements
  • Provides end-user support in post-deployment phases. Assesses and evaluates all feedback to ensure that the requirements necessary to correct issues are addressed.
  • Understands and identifies the correct resources to help define and validate both requirements and specifications.
  • Interfaces with System Integrator, vendor and company developers to answer questions relating to business requirements and resolve issues related to work assignments.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Required:

  • System development life cycle (SDLC) / SW development processes (RUP, Agile, Waterfall)
  • Requirements specification and development
  • Process/Functional Requirements definition methods
  • Use case development
  • Process flow diagrams
  • Technical Design process and models
  • Testing (tools and processes)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Problem solving / analytical skills, tools and techniques
  • Consulting / client relationship skills
  • 2+ years' experience in gathering / documenting requirements, modeling and providing general client/IT liaison support

Preferred:

  • 4+ years' experience in gathering / documenting requirements, modeling and providing Data and Business Intelligence analysis and support
  • Technology/Software industry knowledge.
