An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation. Our client, a blue-chip IT company, is currently seeking a Testing & Service Transition Manager based at their Leading Software customer site in Newbury, Berkshire. This is a Full-time, temporary role for 12 months, to start ASAP.

The Group is the seventh largest software company in the world, the largest technology company listed on the FTSE and the largest UK technology company listed on the New York Stock Exchange. They specialise in managing predominantly mature infrastructure software assets which have been delivering value to significant numbers of customers over long periods of time.

We are therefore looking for Candidates to assist our client in the Data and Business Intelligence domain who have experience in playing key roles on similar size and scale programmes. Working in a dynamic fast-moving environment, the candidates should be self-starters, able to provide perspectives and guidance based upon a proven track record of delivery. Preferably experienced in directing and challenging System Integrators.

Key Role Responsibilities:

  • Define test strategy and plan
  • Write and refine complex test scripts
  • Execute various systems, performance, integration, regression, and ad-hoc tests according to approved test plans and testing schedule
  • Troubleshoot, in conjunction with end users and development teams, issues of reproducing, investigating and debugging software
  • Generate defect reports for issues found during testing, and provide accurate testing status to project stakeholders
  • Develop, implement, track and report test metrics
  • Maintain test environment
  • Ensures quality and user acceptance testing is designed and launched according to project timelines
  • Ensures quality standards of software products through all stages of product development life cycle
  • Drives quality of software as measured by number of post-implementation defects reported by clients

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Required:

  • Design and management of Testing strategies including the associated artefacts e.g. test scripts
  • Advanced techniques and technologies testing
  • Development Productivity & Automation -- QTP / Quality Center / Load Runner / Electric Commander / Metric Miner
  • Integration Technologies - Informatica/ Mulesoft/ Talend
  • Database Technologies - Oracle/ Vertica / MS SQL
  • BI & Reporting Technologies - Tableau / Qliksense
  • Cloud computing / SaaS / IaaS / PaaS technologies
  • 5+ years' experience in application testing

Preferred:

  • Led large complex testing programmes in dynamic environment within the software/technology sector
  • Experience of working with 3rd party testing service providers

High level of error rate detection and speed to resolution

High levels of business engagement and acceptance

High level of Production performance and reliability (measured by failure/ defect rate)
