My client is one of Britain's biggest suppliers of electrical & mechanical workshop tools and machinery.

They are currently in the market to add to their successful company with an experienced Buyer.

The successful candidate will be able to travel to West Essex, it would be an advantage if you had experience within the following markets of Power Tools, Generators or Compressor Sectors.

The ideal candidate will have the following experience:

CIPS

Buying within a Distribution centre

Forecasting, Reporting, Analysing Figures,

Controlling Shipping containers from Europe or the Middle East,

You will be reporting directly to the Finance Director working contracted hours of 8:30am to 6pm Monday to Friday.

The basis salary ranges from 35k upwards with 20 days holiday.

Duties to include:

  • Reporting into the Purchasing director you will work together to create and implement a robust group procurement process
  • Category management of multiple SKUs
  • SKUsForecasting requirements and ordering products to meet demands
  • Liaising with Operations, Supply Chain, Production, Finance and Marketing teams
  • Management of existing supplier relationships to enhance our product quality, competitiveness and lead times
  • Review, analyse and negotiate with new suppliers in line with company terms of trade
  • Continuously monitoring and evaluating supplier performance
  • Analyse current brand ranges and conduct regular range reviews
  • Work with our in-house quality control and your purchasing colleagues to ensure all products meet our quality standards and shipped on time to arrive and meet customer expectations

Competencies / Attributes:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within a similar sector
  • 'H-o son'elf-starter and must have excellent proven influencing and negotiating skills
  • Ability to target and deliver significant cost savings
  • Strong an, analyticaltactical and communications skills
  • Solid supply chain/ buying experience
  • Problem solving, time management, project management and decision-making skills
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Ability to keep calm under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • CI aCIPSccredited is desirable
