Manpower are pleased to be recruiting for a Test Technician on behalf of our busy client based in St. Albans. This is a temporary to permanent position starting immediately!
Hours of work:
Monday - Friday, 08.30am - 17.00pm with an hour for lunch.
Pay rate:
Dependant on experience
About the Role:
Our Client currently has a vacancy in the Engineering Services section of their Infrastructure Services Division based in St Albans. The vacancy is for a Technician to undertake structural testing and product performance projects.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- To undertake structural testing projects for external and internal clients (laboratory and site)
- To undertake product performance tests
- Conduct site testing and sampling
- Liaising with clients when necessary
- Reporting of results and work in progress
- Play an active role in maintaining compliance with quality, health and safety requirements.
- Timely completion of technical work and reporting of results
- Reduction in non-compliances resulting from quality and safety audits.
About the candidate:
- Experience in an engineering environment
- Previous experience in a similar role desirable though not essential
- Good technical skills
- Good communication skills
- Able to work to British and International standards
- Good time management
- Able to work on own initiative
- Commercially driven
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred
Training and development:
The successful candidate will receive on the job training by the present technical staff as well as external training courses when required.
In house training will involve the following:
- Company working practises and requirements
- Company quality, health and safety requirements
- Understanding client needs and expectations
- Operation of laboratory test equipment
- Testing to recognised standards and methods
- Instrumentation techniques
- Design of bespoke test methods
- Providing proposals and quotes to clients
- Production of reports
