We are excited to be working with our client to source a Service Manager who will work across offices in Torquay, Barnstaple and Exeter. Our client is a Mental Health Support Service that prides themselves in offering personalised services and support to those in need.

About the role

Within your role as Service Manager your main responsibility will be to support the team across all three sites in delivering Mental Health Services to people in distress and in need of urgent support. Leading the team you will work closely with Mental Health Workers, partners and other agencies. On a daily basis you will be ensuring that there is a welcoming, safe, supportive and non-clinical environment for all patients. You will do this by ensuring your team is delivering their services to the highest standards whilst also being open-minded and non-judgemental towards all individuals. Other responsibilities will include offering smooth links to the crisis home treatment teams, hospital liaison team, street triage and access and wellbeing service. It will be your responsibility to work with the NHS, local authorities, voluntary sectors, police and ambulance. You will be required to refer to local community Mental Health Services for urgent follow ups. This role is being offered on a permanent contract of £33,075 per annum.

This role will include working unsociable hours between 6pm-12am but day shifts are also available.

About the candidate

To succeed in this role you must have experience working within a mental health setting and have knowledge of primary and secondary pathways and the mental health care act. Having experience helping those in distressed situations and being abble to identify and overcome barriers is highly desirable. It is essential to be educated to a degree level in a relatable subject such as health and social care. Having excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills and a highly motivated attitude is also essential to succeed in this role. As this role will include working with those with mental health issues having a trauma aware approach when talking to individuals will be required.
