Objectives and Responsibilities
- Understand, develop and use new initiatives that may improve their in house processes to become more efficient. Also use of kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma tools and techniques to further enhance their understanding, performance and overall quality.
- Understand and adhere to all Health and Safety procedures as well as identifying and addressing any additional risks that may arise.
- Programming/setting Fanuc and Siemens operating systems.
- Carrying out self-inspection to an authorized level.
- Ability to read and Interpret engineering drawings.
- Measure all first off production components using a wide range of measuring devices.
- Working to tight tolerances
- Inspect own work and carry out first off inspections for others
- Some project-based work developing new automated systems.
- Ordering and stock control of tools and spare parts.
Essential Experience and Knowledge
- Strong problems solving skills with innovative solutions.
- Programming experience/setting with regards to Fanuc and Siemens turning machines.
- Competent on all aspects of setting tools, including understanding cutting speeds and feeds.
- Strong experience using measurement/inspection equipment including verniers, bore gauges, micrometres etc.
- Carrying out deburring of machined components during production cycles ensuring minimal disruption to production
- Highly motivated and can work well in a team
- Maintaining work areas in a safe, clean and orderly manner including conformance with ISO9001 standards
- Experience of measure all first off production components using a wide range of measuring devices.
- Attention to detail and ability to work to tight timescales.
- Drive and enthusiasm.
- Excellent all round communication skills.
- ability to work using own initiative and undertake first off inspections
- ability to pick up new tasks quickly and high level of skills retention

- Training and General Supervision of Lathe Operators.
Hours of Work:
40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Shift 05.45-14.15hrs, however flexibility required to meet business needs as and when required.
