I am currently looking for a technician to join a team of existing technicians who work together to service, inspect and repair mechanical and pneumatic construction hand held tools.

The client has a range of power tools and they provide a range of solutions for construction products including Gas, Powder Actuation and Pneumatic tools.

The client has team of skilled technicians who work Monday to Friday to achieve the following responsibilities:

  • Diagnostic and repair of customer equipment within departmental goals
  • Maintaining records relating to tool service and warranty/re-repairs when required
  • Identify whether customer tools are viable for repair and what components are required to fulfil repair to acceptable quality levels
  • Deciding the components/labour required for quoted items
  • To ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues and work within the agreed Health and Safety training and requirements of the service centre
  • Ensuring agreed daily output of tools are met this may be over a period of time due to complex issues related to repairs/services
  • Assisting with booking in tools and packing for despatch when required
  • Not to exceed agreed re-repair rates for the service centre
  • To take ownership of own training and development needs
  • Departmental housekeeping
  • Any other tasks as required by management

Due to the nature of the role and types of product you will be expected to service, we have outlined the following qualifications as a guide. Please note the below qualifications are desirable and not essential.

However, you should be able to demonstrate a desire and a passion for working as a technician working with electrical and pneumatic hand tools and be confident taking things apart to have a look inside.

Desirable qualifications:

  • City & Guilds in mechanical engineering, NVQ2 in mechanical engineering

C&G/NVQ in electrical engineering would be beneficial.

  • Certificate in abrasive wheel use beneficial

  • Actively contributes as a team player
  • Receptive and open minded
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to explain technical information
  • Culturally aware
