An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation, our Global FMCG Client, are currently seeking a Specifications Assistant for their Impulse Ice-Cream & Desert brands, based at the Sharnbrook, Bedfordshire - MK44- (Just a 40-minute drive from Milton Keynes)!
This is a full-time temporary role for a period of 6 months (maternity Cover), working a 37.5 hour week. This role is paying £27,000 per annum - pro rata.
Background:
The European Ice Cream Regional Deploy Centre is a fast paced and demanding environment, where effective and fast delivery is key to its success. In 2017, the EU Region accounted for 6.9billion sales which was over ¼ of the total IC business (8.4% USG). Within this group, the Impulse team are responsible for the development and on-going improvement to a wide variety of brands and products including many well-known local jewels (Feast; Rocket; Twister; Solero).
In 2018, the team successfully delivered an impressive range of innovative products which accounted for 33% of global Ice cream sales, with a net value of €100M.
In this role, the Job Holder (JH) will be supporting the landing of renovation activities within our existing ice cream portfolio. The JH will play a critical role in updating specifications with correct data and creating associated product labels thus ensuring fluid delivery of products to market. The JH should have excellent attention; be willing to learn and use a range of IT systems and also be willing to support essential product-related protocols for defining quality and shelf life parameters.
Job Summary:
- Responsible for editing and maintaining high quality product specification hierarchies which enables the team to delivery against key sustainability, labelling and cost-driven targets (HNS; 5S)
- Build and maintain resulting specifications against quality standards and continually strive to improve the content through liaising with relevant functions/suppliers/peers
- Create specifications to track all recipe development and translate the locked product design into a product that can be made in our factories
- Undertake raw material & product stability trials, using a range of analytical methodologies and report the results back to the project team
- Organise and manage tasting sessions for the project team, involving R&D colleagues and cross-functional partners;
- Contribute to the overall success of the EU Regional Deploy Centre by supporting teams and unit events as required.
Key Skills &Experience & Qualifications:
- Strong self-drive and diligent mindset, with good attention to detail and organizational skills.
- excellent computer literacy/experience with proven ability to learn new systems
- Diligent, rigorous and accurate in the ability to collate information from multiple sources
- Ability to prioritise workload against demand from multiple customers and projects
- Data entry or admin related background where they can demonstrate using a variety of IT systems
