Manpower is currently recruiting for Continuous Improvement / Electrical Engineer for our well-established manufacturing client based in Morley, Leeds.

This is long term ongoing contract with the view to go to permanent.

The Continuous Improvement / Assistant Electrical Engineer roll is to support production and engineering by identifying specific issues that will improve the OEE and then suggest improvements / modifications. Assisting to maintain effective running of all plant equipment to obtain maximum production and service efficiency, improve costs, quality and safety

DIMENSIONS:

  • Will be required to carry out minor general tasks with limited supervision.
  • Identify specific issues that will improve the OEE
  • Variable workload, alternating between assisting the maintenance Engineer and carrying out minor general tasks for the production team leaders.
  • Some Minor project works.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:


  • Identify specific issues that will improve the OEE (overall equipment effectiveness).
  • Implement a TLC (tighten; lubricate; clean) program for all filling lines.
  • Support and contribute to the development of safe systems of work ensuring that Company Health and Safety Standards are complied with, and safe working practices are always adopted.
  • Provide site breakdown cover. Carry out minor tasks as allocated by the production Shift Leaders / Engineer
  • Assist the Engineer to diagnose breakdown causes and repair efficiently and effectively.
  • Assist the Engineer to carry out equipment installations as required to current organisational and regulatory standards, and be involved in or familiar with any project plans for the installation of new equipment.
  • Assist the Engineer to carry out frequency based Preventive Maintenance plans to site standards across all areas of the site and rectify any issues found.
  • Carry out effective housekeeping of Workshop, Pump Bay, Stores and Plant areas affected by maintenance / production activities.

  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED:


  • Electrical trade apprenticeship
  • Electrical production Engineering experience
  • Experience in Preventative Maintenance, practice and procedures
  • Some knowledge and experience of working with pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Internal training must be achieved: - Confined space trained and certified, IPAF/PASMA trained and certified.
  • Good communications skills at all levels.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Health and Safety requirements.
  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
  • Conscientious, reliable, and flexible approach to shifts and overtime.

  • ADDITIONAL FEATURES:


  • Suggesting improvements to plant and equipment to enhance safety and/or efficiency.
  • Assisting in the designing and implementation of modifications to production equipment.
  • Working unsociable hours in hazardous and physically demanding environments as required.
  • Being available to work at short notice to maintain effective running of the plant.

  • WORKIGN HOURS:

    First month on morning - 7.30am - 15.30 shadowing other engineer, then move onto afternoon hours 12.30 - 20.30 Mon to Fri with early finish on Friday.

    Pay - £16.50 ph plus OT rate over 38 hours
