Fleet Workshop Controller

The role will be assisting the fleet maintenance manager to maintain and repair the vehicle fleet in line with company standards and legislation.

You will also be expected to work on the tools when required

Suitable candidates will have experience as a Commercial Vehicle/ HGV Mechanic and experience with supervising in a workshop environment.

The Role:

• Assist the Fleet Maintenance Manager to lead, motivate and develop the workshop team in meeting the needs of customers by providing safe, timely and efficient vehicle maintenance support.
• Ensure that operational demands of the fleet are met with minimal impact on vehicle downtime and that all legal requirements under Operator Licence are met.
• Ensure that Technicians within the department inspect, repair and service all fleet vehicles to a high standard
• Ensure that Technicians complete vehicle maintenance documentation accurately and on time
• Oversee and implement compliance with Health & Safety practices
• Actively coach and support the workshop team to maintain a productive and efficient workshop operation
• Work on the tools and help Technicians with repairs or diagnoses when required

What we are looking for:

• A fully qualified Commercial Vehicle Technician/ HGV Mechanic with experience from a heavy vehicle workshop environment
• Preferably experience working at a Supervisory level within a commercial vehicle workshop and knowledge of relevant legislation and paperwork e.g O License and maintenance regulations
• Ability to work on the workshop floor when required
• Preferable to have C+E HGV license
• Experience of Health & Safety compliance and practices
