For over 50 years, this company has provided mission-critical systems to detect, measure and analyse radiation to protect people, property and the environment. They are looking for a Test & Field Service Engineer to report to the Production Manager at their Farnborough facility.

Definition

To ensure consistent and acceptable product and system quality through stringent testing. To support customer repairs, installation and commissioning activities.

Purpose of the Role

To set up, test and calibrate the company's products and systems, as well as site installation, commissioning and repairs

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, test and calibrate PC-controlled, high temperature, radiation tolerant and general surveillance camera products and systems and associates sub-assemblies, to company standards, specifications and test procedures
  • Occasional site visits in the UK and overseas to install, commission service and repairs camera systems are required

Parallel Responsibilities

  • Ensure work carried out in the department is accurate and of the highest quality
  • Resolve day-to-day issues arising during testing
  • Cross-checking work and signing job sheets to allow transfer of products to other departments
  • Liaison with key stakeholders within the business to ensure smooth flow of products through the business

Qualifications and Experience

  • In-depth knowledge of both digital and analogue television video systems, as well as general electronic principles - minimum 5 years' industry experience
  • Strong fault-finding and circuit analysis skills
  • Able to operate appropriate test equipment
  • Previous experience of working on site (preferably in high temperature and/or nuclear facilities)
  • Available to travel both within the UK and internationally
  • PC literate (specifically Windows 10 and MS Office 2016)
  • Good verbal and written communications skills
  • Qualified to HNC (minimum, preferably in an electronic engineering discipline (ONC qualified candidate with suitable industry experience will be considered)
  • Electrical safety testing (PAT) of products
