Job Details

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation, our client is a Leading Global FMCG Company with Brands such as Dove, Knorr, Persil & Magnum and are currently looking for a Specifications Assistant based at their prestigious Research Facility in Port Sunlight. This is a full-time temporary role for a period of 6 months, working a 37.5 hour week and to start ASAP. This role is paying up to £26,750 per annum, pro rata, depending on experience.

An opportunity has arisen to join the EU Regional R&D team within Research and Development in the Hair Deploy Group in Port Sunlight. This exciting role comprises working across all of the EU hair care brands to provide specification development and support for innovation projects and for changes to our existing products to meet ever-changing EU regulatory needs.

The specific tasks associated with the role are summarised below:

  • Support the Hair Category Innovation Programme, specifically in the development of specifications for packaging components and formulations.
  • Design, plan and execute own work plans (with support from workstream leader) managing requirements from both the packaging and formulation teams.
  • Prepare and write specifications for packaging and formulations.
  • Entering new formulations and creating ingredients lists.
  • Effective collaboration within cross-functional teams to ensure specification approval is completed in a timely manner where required.
  • Develop technical mastery of hair care specifications; follow best practice, superior system knowledge and understanding.
  • Establish networks with relevant external contributors and approvers, e.g. suppliers and 3rd party approval agencies.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree level or equivalent previous experience in science or Engineering subject
  • Experience with SAP or similar database
  • Experience with SAP PLM and/or Teamcentre beneficial.
  • Experience in writing and managing specifications.
  • A rigorous approach and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise workload accordingly.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
