Great opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Finance Analyst, are you currently studying for a professional accounts qualification? Have you worked for a manufacturing company? Do you have costing and financial accounting experience and knowledge of double-entry book-keeping? If so this could be the perfect opportunity for you!!

You will be entitled to a 5% bonus of annual salary if the company achieves its financial target for the year, you will also benefit from a pension scheme, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.

As a Costing Analyst you should have a good grounding in accounting, preferably having started on the road to professional qualification, as well as having experience working in a manufacturing environment. The position requires a very self-motivated individual with the ability to use their initiative to look for solutions.

The overall objective of the role is to maintain the product prices and costs within the business in a way that drives behaviour which encourages margin optimisation.

To perform and manage the quotation process, gathering and validating information from the Sales and Procurement functions, enabling sound decisions to be taken on current and potential future business. To provide feedback to the business on sales and margin performance, including labour and relevant overheads. With training, to cover for other areas of the Finance department.

Key Responsibilities include reviewing the current quotation process, suggesting and making improvements to ensure best practice. Maintain prices, costs and product structures within the ERP system. Update quarterly index-related price changes.

Produce quotations from information provided by the sales team, using Salesforce.com. Ensure that customer price lists for all contracts are set up and maintained for the business. Carry out regular checks to ensure prices are correct. Analyse pricing and margins to identify opportunities to improve profitability. Identify any low margin or loss making products. Report daily on sales and margins, report daily on scrap and material usage variances.

Perform journal entries and account reconciliations. Be involved in other areas of the department, as and where necessary.

The successful candidate will need to be familiar with Excel with experience in the use of pivot tables, filters and lookups. Training for other systems used will be given, but any experience of the following would obviously be an advantage, salesforce.com, Syteline, Excel, Corvu Reporting.

The Costing Analyst reports directly to the Finance Manager, but will have close contact on a regular basis with the following, Finance Director, Sales Managers, Customer Service Representatives, Procurement staff.
