South Central Ambulance Service is looking for Emergency Call Handlers to join their fast paced contact centre in Bicester. In this role, you will take emergency 999 calls offering the best service on every call as you provide lifesaving support to the general public.

We're looking for individuals with good judgement, who are able to make informed decisions as you'll need to discern the severity of calls and provide appropriate support over the phone. This will include providing First Aid information, dispatching ambulances and passing on information to relevant services. We require a minimum of 2 GCSE's (or equivalent) in Maths and English.

We offer a 4 week training and a further 8 week support programme, and continually encourage the development of our employees. You must be available to attend training from 8.30am - 4.30pm or 5.00pm - 1.00am Monday - Friday for 4 weeks. Once you've completed your initial training we also offer a 25% pay increase for shifts worked from 7pm - 7am and weekends.

The site is operational 24/7 365 days a year, so applicants will be flexible to cover a new rota every 4 weeks which will include 8, 10 and 12 hour shifts, days, nights and weekends.
