Our client, an international manufacturing organisation based south of Cambridge, are looking to recruit a Production Planner.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITY

SALES & OPERATIONS PLAN
Capture, analyse, anticipate and communicate issues that potentially impact
customers, costs, production or purchasing at site level for middle to long term
horizon

Major tasks:
* Provide Rough Cut Capacity plan
* Analyse demand fluctuation and impacts on business and site
* Propose alternatives when required for mitigate business risks
* Validate & update system replenishment parameters (Safety Stock,
Re-Order Point, Economic Order Quantities, Lead Time)
* Set priorities to respond to customer needs and business strategy,
including meeting the Schedule Adherence targets.
* Give guidance to and manage production scheduling activities
* Supervise and oversee the creation of Purchase Requisitions by
Purchasing Officers
* Ensure the NPI process is successful for the site and Production,
Purchasing and Supply Chain objectives are met.

PRODUCTION PLANNING
Receive, coordinate and prioritise execution of the demand for stock
replenishment (MTS) and direct customer orders (MTO) for the short term time
horizon

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Education:
* Degree, either in Business or Supply Chain or equivalent experience
* Commercial exposure and more than 5 years work experience in a production planning
related function
* Language skills : Fluent English, German a plus
* APICS or equivalent experience required

Experiences:
* Production planning, project planning in industrial environment
* Knowledge of business tools & processes
* Understanding of commercial priorities
* High focus on data and metrics
* Project management and deeply process oriented
* S&OP, RCCP, APO, MRP, MTO, MTS - all planning concept and level knowledge
Know-how/skills:
* Good communication skills as a coordinator between Customer Service, Planning,
Demand Management, Purchasing, Production, Distribution & external service providers
* Strong interpersonal skills and team-oriented
* Convincing without authority
* Dealing with ambiguity and priority setting
* Proven understanding of day to day business activities, reporting and operations
* Detail oriented with capacity to see the big picture and apply this in expediting tasks
* Computer literacy and high proficiency in major IT tools (SAP, Excel, Access, BI)
