An excellent opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation, our client Unilever are currently looking for a Financial Reports Writer based at Unilever's prestigious facility in Blackfriars, London. This is a full time temporary role for a period of 5 months, starting September 2016, working a 40 hour week (Mon-Fri), paying between £25,600 and £28,800 per annum, pro rata, depending on experience.

Key responsibilities
* Production of Unilever's Annual Report and Accounts (ARA) up to point of readiness for bulk printing and electronic filing/publishing
* Extract financial statements tables from the ARA and produce separate excel files
* Production of other external financial reporting documents including quarterly announcement and form 20-F (for US reporting - training provided)
* Ad hoc assignments within the Group Chief Accountant's Department (GCAD) and as required by the ARA team.

Details of the role
Unilever is in the process of automating the production process via a newly acquired tool, Cognos Disclosure Management. We require an experienced typesetting professional to set up the ARA within the tool and to manage edits until the 2016 ARA is published. Training on the tool will be provided. The incumbent will report to the Group Financial Reporting Manager.

Setting up the ARA
The job holder will format the ARA content in the tool to create a presentable output that can be published externally. This includes:
* creating Word, Excel and Power Point documents within the tool,
* editing text, tables, charts,
* sorting headers, footers, pagination etc.

Updating the ARA documents
The job holder will be required to edit the ARA during the critical production period (typically November to February). The applicant will receive instructions from various team members and will be expected to turn around the request very quickly with perfect accuracy/attention to detail.

Management of information/Controls
In addition to the updating of the document itself, the job holder is required to maintain a high standard of control over the receipt and processing of changes to be made to the document, to ensure that these are properly authorised and that a full audit trail is retained. All documents will need to be filed in a logical order for ease of reference.

Working environment
The role sits within Chief Accountant's Department (Finance). However, the wider ARA team is a combination of staff from Finance, Legal and Corporate Communication teams. Most of the team are based in London but a small number are based in the Netherlands. The job holder is expected to be a good team player and able to handle multiple instructions in an organised way.

Key skills and competencies
* Experience of typesetting Annual Reports and Accounts (complex tables, graphs, financial information) - ESSENTIAL
* Good eye for layout and detail - perfectionist tendencies encouraged
* Strong experience working in Word, Excel and Power Point is essential
* Used to working with multiple stakeholders (can project manage content, communicate across teams)
* Good interpersonal skills
* High standard of English language including spelling
* Organisation/task management

Other factors
* Work pressure can be intense during January and February
* Long working hours may be required at times
