An opportunity has arisen for someone to join our expanding team of recruitment consultants based in a high street branch in Eastleigh specialising in Driving and Logistics.
As a consultant, you will receive a competitive salary, numerous benefits and have the chance to earn commission based on performance.
No previous recruitment experience is needed as full training will be given.
A normal working week is Monday to Friday with hours of work being between 0700 and 1800 spread across 3 members of staff so normal hours would be 0700-1530, 0830-1730 or 0930-1800, you would be entered into a rolling rota that means you would have a different start and finish each week for 3 weeks then back to the first start time.
A normal day in our office can include; Paying all employees on a Monday, checking responses from adverts, booking shifts and work for the week, administration, sales and speaking to candidates, sourcing people for the roles we are actively working on, dealing with issues that the candidates may have, Registering people to work for us, speaking to existing candidates and keeping them up to date, any other tasks that need doing day to day.
The area that we cover is from Bournemouth/Poole to Chichester along the south coast dealing with people across all areas of driving and logistics from car/van drivers, 7.5T, Class 2 (Ccat) Class1 (C+E), Forklift drivers both counter balance and reach, Minibus drivers (D1), Coach drivers (D), Warehouse staff within logistics companies, drivers mates, transport administrators and many more. We deal with both temporary and permanent roles, some on an ongoing basis and some on an ad-hoc basis.
We have our business split into two areas, National Accounts and Retail. One of the jobs of the consultant is to ensure a high fill rate in the national accounts and to continue to grow our retail business through sales calls and visits.
To be successful in this role you should have the following qualities:
1-Resilience, often the needs of a client can change at the last minute and what you have been working on for a number of hours could end up changing, you need to be able to adapt to change very quickly and with minimal affect to your work.
2-Flexibility, sometimes what you have planned into the diary or for the day may have to change, if you are booked to work from 0700-1530 you may need to stay at work later to complete work or occasionally come in early to make sure all work is completed.
3-Calming nature, occasionally the staff can have issues and will phone or pop into the branch to let us know about it, you need to be able to calm someone down when they are feeling a little stresses and resolve their issues in a professional manor.
4-Professionalism, you will be the face of the company and our branch, you will have to be presentable and professional at all times when answering phones, going on visits, registering candidates attending meetings etc.
5-Good communication skills, you will be expected to speak to people over the phone and face to face as both clients and candidates, but also through written word.
6-Positive thinking, no matter how down a situation gets you, you can't be bogged down by it, you have to spring back up and continue working on something else or it can have a knock on effect.
7-Punctual, If you are supposed to be at a meeting or attending a call for a set time missing it can be the difference between getting the business or not.
8-Good administrator, there is a lot of admin that comes with this role, if you cannot keep up with the work load it will always continue to grow and keep growing, especially in our peak business times.
9-Confidence, you need to be able to speak to a prospective client over the phone and project a positive image to them, but also must be able to handle rejection if a prospect says no.
10-Team work/team spirit, if you have done all that you can do in your workload and a colleague is struggling, as a branch we would only work if you can help them out, and also vice versa.
