An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation, our client Unilever are currently looking for a Health & Safety Co-ordinator, based at Unilever's prestigious facility in Kingston upon Thames, Surrey. This is a full time temporary role for a minimum period of 12 months starting October 2016, working a 37.5 hour week. This role is paying between £28,000-£32,000 depending on experience.

The role:
This is an excellent position for candidates wishing to gain further experience with an FMCG organisation, using their existing health and safety background, to take the next step in their career. This role will allow the successful applicant to grow into a position that brings responsibility and development. Utilising current skills the successful candidate will co-ordinate improvement projects in the occupational health and safety management of internal and external company events and contractor management.

The successful applicant will report directly to the SHE Operations Manager. Initial support will be provided, with a view to undertaking a range of duties in the role, which will evolve over time, in order to develop robust, efficient systems and process in health and safety management. The role will require excellent organizational and people skills.

Key activities include:
*Work closely with the SHE Operations Manager to develop a simple, robust process for internal and external Events and Contractors Management.
*Work with Occupational Health to ensure integration and consideration of occupational health risks in the events safety and contractor management process.
*Roll out Safe Contractor approval scheme for South-East cluster contractors including on boarding of all existing Unilever contractors.
*Align with our Facilities Management partner in the Management of Contractors for onsite Events.
*Integrate the new Unilever risk assessment process into Events Safety Management.
*Ensure alignment in approach with the Unilever Behavioural Safety program.
*Maintain a high profile and credibility of Safety, promoting the importance of compliance.
*Provide health and safety guidance / direction for Events health and safety support required by our internal customers.
*Generate example / best practice risk assessments for a variety of events.
*Review and offer feedback on risk assessments to help ensure they are suitable and sufficient.
*Offer ad hoc support to UKI sites for events where local SHE teams request it.
*Work with our corporate Event bookers to align with existing event booking tool.
*Streamline process where possible.

*Minimum NEBOSH General Certificate.
*Experience working in a SHE discipline.
*Effective communicator and trainer.
*Good networking skills and collaboration across international environments.
*Excellent Computer skills - Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook.
*Self-starter, ability to take a project brief and execute.
