Manpower are currently recruiting for multiple Server Install Engineers to join their Client - an on-site delivery specialist for multi-vendor products and services. The successful candidate will join a team tasked with operational issues and admin in terms of change management and project work at a busy Data Centre at either Wakefield or Tankersley. The salary is max £21,700 per annum on 12 month Fixed Term Contract basis.

The engineer will own the full process from booking the server in the system, to installation and finally signing off a working server, in between this there are forms\processes to follow. This could be an opportunity for a recent university \ college leaver or those who have 1\2 years work experience.

The successful candidate will be required to complete daily installations of servers. They will be required to complete the following installation activities:
Rack and Stack Servers
Patching the cables into the servers
Power on (after 8 PM)
ILO Set up
Check Firmware

This will involve hours of working weekdays on an 8 hour shift from between 09:00 - 22:00. However if the candidate did have to work past 22:00 they would be able to claim a £3 per hour shift allowance. Were there to be travel required between sites (Tankersley and Wakefield), mileage can be claimed.

If there are issues with the servers when powering on the successful candidates should have the skills required to diagnose\fix, so that the customer is left with a working server before handing over to their Operations Team.

The activities also include completing Change Management \ Completing Projects, so there is a significant amount of admin involved in the role. The engineer will own the full process from booking the servers in the system, through to installation and sign off of a working server.

The successful candidate should have experience in a server support environment and supporting system platforms which include:

*H.P. Proliant, Gen 8, Gen 9

The successful candidate will also have the following skills and abilities:

Be prepared to deliver the level of service this customer demands with a "can do" attitude.
