The playgroup at Wood Green Salvation Army provides 24 places for children aged 2 to 4 years, they provide a welcoming play environment where the children feel valued and enjoy a real sense of belonging and are now looking for a Senior Early Years Practitioner with named Deputy to provide high quality and effective support of the playgroup. This is a temporary position starting as soon as possible to work 30.5 hours a week, term time only, to cover permanent recruitment.

Key Responsibilities:
You will work under the supervision of the Manager, to provide a stimulating and safe environment in which children are encouraged to learn, socialise and develop their full potential. You will be required to carry out all the duties of the Nursery Manager in his or her absence. You must be willing to work in partnership with the local Salvation Army leaders and be sympathetic to the principles and practices of The Salvation Army.

The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate:
*Level 3 or above qualification in Childcare (NNEB or NVQ) or equivalent, with at least 2 years' experience and a full and relevant Safeguarding Certification
*Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage
*Ability to communicate well, both in writing and verbally, across a range of stakeholders
*Ability to demonstrate leadership and management competencies
