Health and Safety
a) To ensure the operations under your control comply with the relevant statutory legislation, Safety Policy, and the company Safety, Health and Environment Management System
b) To assist the Site Manager in the compliance of procedures and systems under the clients Health, Safety and Environment Management System
c) To lead by example in the observance of safety rules and use of protective equipment and safety devices
d) To hold the appointment under Section 8 (1) (d) of the Quarries Regulations 1999
e) To audit and complete sections as appropriate of the daily inspection (checklist format)
f) To assist the Site Manager in the control of contractors working on site, to include inspections of their plant and equipment and their adherence to prepared method statements, safe working practices
g) To ensure that the weekly geotechnical inspections are carried out

Customer and Quality Assurance
a) To ensure that all materials supplied to customers comply with the relevant specification and that a high quality of service is given to the customer, by applying the Quality Assurance systems
b) To deal courteously with all visitors to site, including customer
c) Work in close liaison with customers, Trading and Premix staff to establish the most reliable and efficient service
d) Promote vigorously the benefits achieved from buying from the client by providing a quality service and a quality product
General Management
a) To assist in purchasing spares, materials and services as required for effective running of the operation at the most cost effective price possible
b) To assist the Site Manager in the completion of Period End Profit Estimations by the compilation of stock returns, production & breakdown analysis, written summary, expenditure database. Provision of above information to be in electronic form as appropriate

c) To compile accurate maintenance records and ensure that servicing and repairs are carried out as programmed by the Site Manger
d) To maintain good working relationships and communication between the management and employees and notify the Site Manager if problems are developing
e) To liaise and discuss with the Site Manager any training requirements for the staff under your control and to ensure that all new employees have received the induction training and appropriate specialised training where relevant
f) To assist the Site Manager in the prevention of fraud
g) To maintain good relationships with neighbours and to ensure that complaints are brought to the attention of the Site Manager
h) To ensure that all land, roads, and buildings within the site boundaries are kept in a good state of repair and general housekeeping conveys a tidy, presentable company image
