Manpower are currently recruiting for a Network and Infrastructure Support Engineer to join their Client - an on-site delivery specialist for multi-vendor products and services.

The successful candidate will be required to work as part of a team providing Network and infrastructure support within a large datacentre. If you suspect that you will not be able to obtain SC MoD and MoJ security clearance, then this role is not for you, as it will be a primary requirement for the role

This work is varied across both Wynyard or Doxford sites during office hours of 0900 - 1715 weekdays. This role will be an initial fixed term contract of 13 months. Please note that I have placed the role located in Peterlee - this should bisect the two locations of Sunderland and Billingham (Doxford Park and Wynyard Park.

The tasks will include (but not limited to):

*Network installations and support in the Data Centre
*On-site service support of remote network & telecom teams
*Working with Network Team to set-up, rack, Re-calibrate, and maintain Network & Telecom equipment, Cabling Fibre and Copper using various test and measuring equipment.
*Support troubleshooting of the network device instructed by the client (ping, etc...)
*Troubleshoot of the trunk cables within the data hall
*Assists in training of Supplier Telecom Technician I employees
Required skills and attributes
*Similar level as CCNA
*Basic knowledge of DC voltage
*Ability to use tools and measurements which are compliant with Commscope certification process for infrastructure cabling fibre and copper
*Excellent written and verbal communications; ability to listen and interface with both technical and non-technical personnel.
*Must have a strong understanding of all major aspects of systems and network equipment HW and FW/SW & knowledge of multiple platforms,
*Knowledge of Cisco, Procurve, H.P. Network products, H3C Checkpoint, F5 and Riverbed

It will be desirable to have:

*Technical associate's degree or equivalent experience and 2-4 years related experience.
*Working knowledge of protocol analysis tools
*Intermediate troubleshooting and problem solving phone skills. Uses quantitative data to draw conclusions.

*Intermediate computer skills with the ability to utilize computerised work order systems to perform issued work orders. Also maintains inventory of all associated parts.
*Network technicians will be trained to CAT 5/CAT 6 certification standards
*UTP and Fibre optic cabling installation, testing, and repair
