Manpower are now recruiting for a helpdesk Operator to work in a busy department in a head office function close to Wigan town centre. The opportunity will allow for great training and career development and will give the successful candidate an opportunity to work in an IT orientated role.

Duties & responsibilities
The role of Helpdesk Assistant operates within the Helpdesk team & reports to the Helpdesk Team Leader. The day-to-day duties of this role will include:
* Logging service requests
* Providing telephone support to users of IT equipment such as hand-held terminals, PCs, laptops & printers
* Stock control - assisting in the recording & tracking of all hand-held devices in use within the Group of companies
* Administration of systems & assets

This is a key role where a professional manner, reliability & punctuality are essential.

Working hours will be :
Summer shifts are between 07:00 & 20:00, Monday to Friday.
Winter shifts operate between 07:00 & 18:00, Monday to Friday.

Shifts will be 7.5 Hours, with half an hour for lunch.

The working week is 5 days out of 7 & you will be required to work one in four Saturdays with a day off during the week. Flexibility in shift attendance will be required to cover holiday leave & other absences. The successful applicant will receive comprehensive training on all relevant systems.
Essential experience/skills

* Professional manner when communicating with customers in person or via the phone
* Ability to work in a team
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
* Ability to manage own workload
* Ability to communicate with staff at all levels
* Ability to adapt & change to a dynamic working environment
Desirable experience/skills
* Experience of Microsoft Pocket PC/Windows Mobile
* Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7
* Advanced Microsoft Office 2003/2007/2010 skills
* Previous experience of working within a help/service-desk environment
