You will be interested in this long term contract position and the opportunity to join our Engineering team during the commissioning stages of one of the most advanced manufacturing facilities in the world. Our client is a leading global paints and coatings company and a major producer of speciality chemicals, with over 47000 employees, in 80 countries supplying decorative and specialist paint solutions to customers worldwide.

You will support the construction and completion phase of this new manufacturing and state of the art paint manufacturing facility based in Ashington North East UK. Working within a team of highly skilled and focused Engineering staff, reporting into the Management team onsite, you will enjoy a forward thinking culture and progressive environment.

The main purpose of this role is commissioning & inspection of installed equipment & reporting faults; snagging list + punch card update / complete repairs & corrective actions, input on technical information / update / revisions, Failure Modes Effect Analysis on Critical Systems and Equipment. Such as storage holding tanks for liquids, treatment converting powders into slurry, washing / heating / cooling of water, the transfer of liquid / product via piping /valves / pumps, paint production / Boilers / HVAC / compressor/ manufacture, filling and packing automated systems, using mainly Siemens PLC's, and SCADA Profibus environment.

Knowledge + Experience
Qualified to ONC / HNC or an equivalent standard in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering
Experienced Electrical Instrumentation Technician
Experience of equipment commissioning fault finding, inspection and testing automated systems
Experience of instrumentation & controls experience of Siemens PLC (Advantageous)
Good communication skills - both written and oral
A self-starter, high motivated, great attention to detail and accuracy
Works well under pressure, with a flexible approach to work and a finisher completer of tasks
