An excellent opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation, our client Unilever are currently looking for an Assistant Brand Manager based at Unilever's prestigious facility in Leatherhead. This is a full time temporary role for a period of 12 months (with potential to extend/become permanent) starting ASAP, working a 36.25 hour week, paying up to £36,878 per annum, pro rata, depending on experience.

The Baking, Cooking and Spreads Company consists of a number of iconic brands that have been around for many years. A big business with a small business feel, the BCS is an exciting and dynamic place to work and is designed to behave like a Private Equity firm running a newly acquired business. Flora is a brand that had a 95%+ awareness in the UK and is bought by 40% of UK households. Over recent years it has struggled in the market because of a wider category issue (spreading occasion has been declining) and a lack of clarity in the marketing strategies. In 2016 this all changed with a €12m re-launch across the entire portfolio. The re-launch has kicked off an exciting journey for the brand to capitalise on the ever increasing popularity of plant-based foods. After all, Flora is the healthy, tasty alternative to butter because of its rich blend of rapeseed, linseed and sunflower oils. 2016 also saw the launch of Flora Freedom - a delicious dairy free product. Dairy Free is the vanguard product of the "Powered by plants" campaign that has had great success in market with strong penetration and 5 star online reviews.

Main Purpose
The role supports marketing activity on the Flora brand in the UK and will be responsible in assisting to land the 2017 plan in a way that generates mass excitement in the Flora brand - from media planning right back to the fixture as well as the ongoing responsibility of the brand's Profit & Loss (P&L). This role will develop an in-depth understanding of brand building including launching of exciting and innovative new NPD (new product distribution), pricing and promotion planning, competitor analysis, shopper insight, distribution improvement and P&L delivery.

* Support successful launch of improved core products and NPD in store with 70%+ distribution
* Support successful media campaign to support launch of new core and NPD
* Ongoing optimisation of the promotional competitiveness of Flora
* Delivering new and innovative initiatives to improve the P&L through gross margin initiatives
* Continued understanding of shopper habits and insights to deliver competitive in-store activities
* Project Management, support development and delivery of new quality GWP activities and managing mix of existing product lines including cost saving and renovation initiatives, working closely with brand execution teams to ensure alignment and consistency in go-to-market strategy
