We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a 2nd Line Desk Top Services Engineer for our Client based in Newcastle.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering ongoing support to the desktop infrastructure, therefore strong technical and customer service skills are required.

Key Responsibilities:
- Interacting with the customer to troubleshoot and resolve issues via phone and email
- Management of an individual queue of cases to meet team wide SLAs
- Adhere to incident management procedures under ITIL processes.
- To investigate, diagnose and resolve potential issues that affect the availability of the Desktop Support service.
- Producing documentation, work procedures and processes for supporting the working environment.
- Act as a point of contact within the team for other support teams and the end user.

Essential Skills:
- Good technical knowledge of the following:
- Windows XP
- Windows 7
- Remote profile issues.
- Microsoft Windows 2003
- DFS
- DHCP
- NTFS
- Printing hardware/ software
- Office 2003
- Good troubleshooting skills.

Desirable Skills:
- Experience / knowledge of incident management systems such as HPSM9.
- Experience / knowledge of remote control software i.e. RDP, ITCM and MSRA
- Experience / knowledge of virtualised applications.
- ITIL Foundation

Personal Skills:
- Strong team player
- Have the ability to work under pressure within demanding timeframes
- Attention to detail

Due to the business needs of this role SC security clearance is an essential requirement. If applicants do not currently have SC clearance they must have photographic ID in the form of a passport or driving license, that is in date and reflects the applicants current address.
