Manpower are currently recruiting for customer-focused desk side engineer with a genuine interest in solving peoples IT issues. The applicant should be technically competent, possess good written and face to face communication skills and be willing to collaborate with the wider IT support teams.

The role is a 2nd line Support Engineer, covering the customers in Felling but could also require assisting other sites when required. The successful candidate will be part of a two man team supporting the site were a high level of customer focus and good communication skills are a must.

Dealing with hardware (1st line diagnosis only) and software break-fix and IMAC cases within the defined SLA.

Engineer must be happy to handle routine day to day tasks such as building PC's and network cabling while being capable of managing more complex people orientated tasks including vendor management and project management.
Using a ticket based system to manage SLAs, & monitor Metrics.
Main duties will include:
Assisting remote users over the telephone and through use of remote tools.
Monitor and resolve hardware and software breakfix and IMAC cases via H.P. call logging software
Creating and maintaining documentation when required.
Ownership of tickets to resolution
Manage the life cycle of hardware for desktops and laptops, i.e. builds, refreshes and securely wipe at end of lifecycle.
Occasional travel to assist other sites and customers may be required
Involvement in project delivery on site

* A basic knowledge of hardware repair would be advantageous
* GCSE Maths & English or equivalent
* Experience of Microsoft operating systems (Windows 7 and Windows 10 are a must)
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite troubleshooting and diagnosis
* Previous Experience working as a field engineer supporting PC / laptop Hardware and Software
* Experience of a variety of IT and communications technology systems.
