Manpower UK is recruiting for our client located in Hamilton for a Facilities Assistant who has previous Electrical Engineering experience to contribute to their growing success.

The successful candidate will assist the Senior Technical Officer in providing a professional Maintenance Management service for all property owned or occupied by our client. With your outstanding organisational skills, and sound knowledge of legislation, guidelines and industry best practice relating to health and safety, you will receive continuous training and progression opportunities as the company continues to develop.


Daily Tasks & Duties:
Planned Preventative and Reactive Maintenance of Electrical Installations
Long Term/Life Cycle Maintenance Programme development
Condition Surveys and Asset Register
Legislative compliance
Electrical Engineering functions
Health and Safety Management
Building Fabric and infrastructure

General Over View of Duties:
* Assist the Principal Surveyor to arrange/carry out fabric repairs and maintenance works as directed, and in setting maintenance priorities, forward maintenance programmes and budgets.
* Ensure works are completed to standard and against budget and meet with key client requirements and satisfaction reporting back at regular intervals to the Senior Technical Officer.
* Ensure adequate arrangements for breakdown maintenance, to provide input into project work and deliver delegated planned maintenance projects.
* Ensure regional compliance with all relevant statutory regulations and requirements.
* Arrange/carry out regular and periodic inspections (including all statutory, mandatory requirements and insurance inspections) to maintain the efficiency and safety of electrical installations as directed by the Senior Technical Officer
* Liaise with local building managers to ensure the coordination of all planned and reactive maintenance works.
* Prepare annual and periodic cost reports for electrical maintenance, running costs, minor works and equipment
* Take responsibility for the preparation and tendering of delegated planned maintenance projects. Prepare schedules and specifications (following agreed procedures) and place orders. Audit, supervise/ check works on completion; monitor expenditure against delegated budgets and agree payments.
* Co-ordinate the compilation and maintenance of essential records, to include asset register, statutory records, PPM records, permit to work, risk assessments and method statements etc.
* Manage a strong relationship with external service providers through constructive and proactive communication, undertaking regular review meetings and continually driving service improvements.
* Manage all aspects of Service Level Agreements through active monitoring, auditing and reporting, conducting joint KPI reviews with providers, and managing the provision of management information internally and externally.

Candidate Experience:
*You will oversee all of preparing, drafting, proof reading and approving technical specifications and tender documentation.
* You will have knowledge of building construction, infrastructure and electrical services installations.
* Have knowledge of legislation, guidelines and industry best practice relating to health and safety.
* An appreciation of mechanical building services installations.
* Knowledge of issues, legislation and policy directives relating to environmental issues (i.e. energy management).
* Ability to use Microsoft Office products and other related IT software
required.
