Telephone Partner Account Manager
Microsoft UK Headquarters, Reading - Thames Valley Business Park

Could you work at the hub of the sales process? In this telephone-based role, you'll take responsibility for the revenue of selected Microsoft partners. You'll be expected to contribute to the success of partnerships by providing formulised solutions plans that will bring mutual success.

You'll also help your partner develop in line with the Microsoft Partner Programme (MPP) by directing them to resources and answering enquiries about licensing and products. This means continually updating your expertise in Microsoft offerings. However, as you’re familiar with the IT industry, Microsoft products, account management and ideally field or telesales, you'll already have a sound knowledge base.

As well as this know-how, you'll have fantastic communications skills. These are vital, as you'll be in contact with a variety of Microsoft sales and marketing resources. With their assistance, you can help partners identify new revenue opportunities. With your ability to build relationships quickly and professionally, convey complex scenarios and participate in team discussions, you'll become a trusted adviser to the business. Licensing Tele-Specialist

  • Collecting relevant licensing records through contact via the telephone

  • Comparing those records with Microsoft's records of the total number of licenses installed. If there is a shortfall, you'll work with the customer and a volume licensing partner to ensure the appropriate licenses are purchased

  • Your success depends on balancing the collection of legitimate licensing revenue with customer satisfaction

  • Combining your questioning skills and your ability to listen, together with your patient manner and clear communication skills

  • You will be confident, articulate and able to deal with a wide range of customer reactions over the telephone

  • Your level of commercial and IT industry knowledge is also crucial: you must understand how a business works and our licensing mechanism. It helps if you enjoy the challenge of solving a problem too

With your sales expertise, positive approach and willingness to learn, it won't be long before you're helping customers quickly achieve licensing compliance. Demonstrate that you can also work with partners internally, and we'll ensure you are well rewarded. Knowledge of Microsoft Licensing solutions will be extremely beneficial to this role.
