The technical support team provides students with guidance for using a wide range of
specialist Printing and Finishing processes. The role will involve a combination of digital
technology and manual operated equipment to produce a range of projects associated with
multiple art and media based disciplines, this includes architecture, photography, graphics,
fashion, product design, traditional print and media most of which will be exhibited within a public environment.
You will be required to provide basic technical support to fellow students using the
workshop, ensure the space is used in a safe way and help the technical team with general
housekeeping duties. This is a great opportunity to further develop your own technical
understanding for Digital Printing and Finishing, whilst developing your interpersonal skills in a professional working environment.
Hours of Work:
Monday - Thursday 17.00 - 22:00
Friday 16.00 - 19.00
Saturday 10.00 - 16.00
Main duties:
* To provide basic technical support for students using creative print facilities. Training
and support will be provided to the successful candidate.
* The preparation and basic maintenance of printing materials and printers.
* Ensure that students finish in good time prior to the building closing.
* Ensure that students maintain a clean working area prior to leaving the workshop.
* To assist the workshop technicians in keeping the workshop clean and tidy and stock
taking duties.
* To ensure that students use the workshops in a manner that is in adherence to all
relevant health and safety procedures and guidelines
* Informing security immediately in the event of an accident or injury
