Design Graduate Programme

This is your chance to be part of the design team at one of the country’s leading engineering companies, by joining Ford’s 2017 graduate programme.

Working in our design studio in Dunton, you’ll play a vital part of the product development process right from day one. It’s a varied, challenging, interesting role, giving you the opportunity to build relationships on an international level.

About the graduate programme

You’ll advance through a series of on-the-job placements; building the knowledge and skills you gained during your design degree.  You’ll have the opportunity to develop in several different areas of design, with responsibilities which include:

  • Supporting the design process through the development and presentation of digital models
  • Creating high quality visualisation and renderings to support design team and management reviews
  • Preparing and developing virtual reality presentations
  • Collating and exchanging data for digital model assembly
  • Inputting to relevant engineering discussions and delivering data for downstream departments
  • Contributing to your team and supporting other departments to ensure organisational goals are met, through a ‘one team’ approach.

As part of a global team, you may be required to travel to one of our overseas locations from time-to-time.

What’s in it for you?

As a Ford Graduate, you’ll receive a very competitive salary which will increase as you progress through our organisation. You’ll also receive 26 days annual leave a year (plus bank holidays), an annual holiday bonus payment, discounted rates on Ford cars (for you, and your family), a pension plan, and onsite gyms at most Ford locations.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for people who hold a few key qualities. You’ll recently have gained your design degree, and may have a couple of years work experience, on top of the work experience/business placements you did as part of your degree. You’ll have experience of 3D digital model making and design-relevant programmes, such as VRED, Photoshop and Autodesk Alias.

Creative and flexible, you’ll also have strong communication, team working and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate with studio teams.

Do you want to go further with Ford? We’d love to hear from you. Apply here today.
