Manpower Achieves Ford Premier Automotive Group Supplier Quality Standard

Manpower is celebrating after becoming the first major recruiter of automotive manufacturing staff to be awarded Q1 certification by the Ford Premier Automotive Group, for its provision of staff to the Land Rover factory in Solihull. The award was presented by Brian Davy, Director Non-Production Purchasing, Jaguar, Land Rover and Aston Martin at Manpower's Head Office in Uxbridge, in recognition of meeting the company's stringent standards.

Since October 1999 Manpower has been supplying Land Rover with industrial labour, automotive staff and auto electricians to meet the vehicle manufacturer's needs for a flexible workforce.

The Q1 Certification is given by Ford to suppliers who meet the highest standards laid out by the company in the areas of ISO certification, effective and efficient quality operating systems, high customer satisfaction ratings and continuous improvement in customer service.

The Manpower team has been working for the past 12 months to demonstrate how they have met all of Ford's supplier criteria. This has involved supplying evidence of continuous improvement and quality management systems. Regular customer surveys are also carried out of Ford's managers, project leaders and bill payers about the service they receive from Manpower. Manpower received one of the highest ratings across all suppliers.

Mark Cahill, Managing Director of Manpower UK, comments: "We are extremely pleased to have achieved Q1 certification from PAG on our first attempt and from our first nomination. It's a reward for the hard work and resolve from the team involved in managing the Land Rover contract and will undoubtedly help build on the excellent relationship that has existed between the two companies over the past six years."
