ROB MARRIS, MP FOR WOLVERHAMPTON SOUTH WEST, VISITS LOCAL MANPOWER JOBSHOP BRANCH



Rob Marris, MP for Wolverhampton South West visited the Manpower JobShop branch in Wolverhampton on 25 September 02 to meet with staff working there and see at first hand Manpower's new approach to job seeking.

Kevin Maddox, General Manager for Manpower JobShop Wolverhampton said:

"We were delighted to welcome Rob to our branch. It is wonderful that a local MP has taken an interest in the work we do and recognises the important role we play in the community. Manpower is committed to improving local access to the labour market for all through a retail approach to job hunting. Commenting on the visit, Mr Marris said:

"As a member of the Work and Pensions Select Committee, I was particularly interested to hear about Manpower's initiatives under the Government's New Deal programme and Working Links, a public-private partnership between Manpower, JobCentre Plus, Cap Gemini and Ernst & Young to help the long-term unemployed find work."

He was also interested to learn of Manpower's employment briefing in Birmingham, taking place between 8am and 9.30am on 12th November at the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce. The main speaker will be Keith Faulkner, Managing Director of Working Links and the briefing will cover employment legislation and the implications of the Agency Worker's Directive.
