NEW PARTNERSHIP LAUNCHED TO HELP EMPLOYERS AND YOUNG PEOPLE

Manpower, the UK’s leading recruitment and HR services company, and Training Services, a division of Bath & North East Somerset council, have formed a unique partnership, aiming to benefit both employers and young people. 16-24 year olds currently looking for full time employment can now register with Manpower for work whilst also joining a Modern Apprenticeship through Training Services, enabling them to earn a salary and simultaneously gain a nationally recognised qualification.

Manpower will help young people find work whilst Training Services will provide the support, individual training programme and assessment for the qualification in consultation with the employer.

Hannah Hesketh, Business Manager of Manpower Bath said: “Manpower are delighted to be working in partnership with Training Services. By giving young people in the South West this opportunity we’re confirming our commitment to improving the skills of our staff and enhancing their career opportunities with local employers. Employers on the scheme will benefit from getting a staff member who will complete a relevant NVQ course aimed at supporting their job role. The training is totally free to the employer.”

Training Services was established in 1984 and is one of the longest serving Training Providers in Bath. Consequently their staff has a wide variety of expertise and experience in the areas of Business Administration, Customer Service, Information Technology, Retail plus many other vocational areas. They are able to offer other training programmes such as Preparation for Work, Life Skills, Learndirect and bespoke company training.

Louise Williams, Training Consultant from Training Services, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for local young people who do not wish to go onto further education, but to gain employment and a qualification. This partnership will also benefit employers as it helps with recruitment, improves staff retention and develops a skilled workforce.”
