The Assignment
We have an immediate requirement for a Manufacturing Technician II to join our clients Protein Diagnostics Division in Birmingham. You'll be part of a skilled operations team responsible for producing world‑leading diagnostic products used globally.
This is a 6‑month temporary assignment covering a replacement requirement, with the opportunity to gain valuable experience within a highly regulated life sciences and medical diagnostics environment.
What the Work Involves
Working as part of a dedicated manufacturing team, your duties will include:
- Independently managing your workload against a published production plan
- Managing inventory to ensure materials are available and accurately transacted
- Owning and performing scheduled activities for designated equipment or areas
- Ensuring all work is completed right first time with a strong quality focus
- Proactively identifying and supporting continuous improvement initiatives
- Adhering to site health, safety, and quality procedures at all times
Hours, Shifts & Pay
- Shift pattern: Days only, Monday-Friday, 07:00-15:30
- Pay rate: £13.53 per hour
- Pay frequency: Weekly
- Overtime: Available
- Holiday pay: Accrued and paid in line with statutory requirements
What We Need From You
- Minimum 1 year' s experience in a manufacturing, operations, production, or laboratory environment
- Strong quality and compliance mindset in a fast‑paced setting
- Technically competent and comfortable working with machinery or equipment
- Able to work independently, manage priorities, and perform under pressure
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- IT literate, particularly Microsoft Office and Excel
- Ability to learn and follow written procedures and instructions
- Right to work in the UK - documentation required prior to start
Preferred experience (not essential):
- Experience working in a cGMP or regulated environment
- Previous workload or production plan management experience
