Location: Birmingham
Contract: Temporary - 6 months
Hours: Monday-Friday, 07:00-15:30 (40 hours per week)
Pay Rate: £13.53 per hour
Salary Equivalent: £28,142.40
Overtime: Available

The Assignment

We have an immediate requirement for a Manufacturing Technician II to join our clients Protein Diagnostics Division in Birmingham. You'll be part of a skilled operations team responsible for producing world‑leading diagnostic products used globally.

This is a 6‑month temporary assignment covering a replacement requirement, with the opportunity to gain valuable experience within a highly regulated life sciences and medical diagnostics environment.


What the Work Involves

Working as part of a dedicated manufacturing team, your duties will include:

  • Independently managing your workload against a published production plan
  • Managing inventory to ensure materials are available and accurately transacted
  • Owning and performing scheduled activities for designated equipment or areas
  • Ensuring all work is completed right first time with a strong quality focus
  • Proactively identifying and supporting continuous improvement initiatives
  • Adhering to site health, safety, and quality procedures at all times

Hours, Shifts & Pay

  • Shift pattern: Days only, Monday-Friday, 07:00-15:30
  • Pay rate: £13.53 per hour
  • Pay frequency: Weekly
  • Overtime: Available
  • Holiday pay: Accrued and paid in line with statutory requirements

What We Need From You

  • Minimum 1 year' s experience in a manufacturing, operations, production, or laboratory environment
  • Strong quality and compliance mindset in a fast‑paced setting
  • Technically competent and comfortable working with machinery or equipment
  • Able to work independently, manage priorities, and perform under pressure
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • IT literate, particularly Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Ability to learn and follow written procedures and instructions
  • Right to work in the UK - documentation required prior to start

Preferred experience (not essential):

  • Experience working in a cGMP or regulated environment
  • Previous workload or production plan management experience
