Brook Street is recruiting on behalf of a leading organisation within the chemical manufacturing sector for a Production Operator to join their production team at their site in LS3 (Kirkstall).

This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and safety focused individual to work within a structured, quality driven manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the manufacture of company products, ensuring all production, quality, health & safety, and environmental procedures are followed at all times.

The Role:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Full time permeant role
  • Salary on offer: £30,000 with an increase to £33,000 after 3 months' probation
  • Hours: Split shift 6:00am- 2:00pm/ 1:30pm- 9:30pm
  • Location: LS3 Kirkstall
  • 25 days holidays + Bank Holidays

Key Responsibilities

As a Production Operator, your duties will include:

  • Manufacturing company products through the operation of production equipment and manual handling of raw materials as required
  • Carrying out routine sampling and basic laboratory testing in line with documented Quality Procedures
  • Operating forklift trucks safely and maintaining a valid forklift licence in line with company policy
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the production department
  • Providing cover for the Warehouse Operator when required
  • Working in full compliance with the company's Quality Policy and documented procedures
  • Adhering strictly to all Health, Safety & Welfare at Work systems and statutory requirements
  • Ensuring full compliance with Environmental protection systems, procedures, and company policy
  • Receiving incoming raw material deliveries
  • Inspect materials against quality and goods in checks
  • Stores materials safely and correctly in designated storage areas


Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment (highly desirable)
  • Experience within the Chemical industry would be an advantage
  • Forklift licence (essential or willingness to renew/obtain if expired)
  • Strong awareness of Health & Safety and Environmental compliance
  • Ability to follow documented procedures and quality standards
  • Good communication skills and a team oriented approach
  • Reliable, flexible, and committed to continuous improvement
