Manpower is recruiting a Sous Chef on behalf of a well established countryside venue set within attractive grounds, known for hosting a wide range of events including weddings, corporate events, christenings, wakes, Sunday lunches and private celebrations.
The kitchen delivers a busy and varied events calendar, requiring a Sous Chef who can demonstrate flexibility, strong organisation and the ability to perform consistently.
The Role
As Sous Chef, you will support the Head Chef in the day to day running of the kitchen, taking responsibility for sections and stepping up in their absence. You will play a key role in preparing and delivering food across a wide range of events, ensuring consistency, timing and quality are maintained at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting delivery of weddings, corporate events, christenings, wakes and Sunday lunches
- Preparing and producing high quality food in a banqueting environment
- Supervising and supporting the kitchen team during service
- Maintaining consistency, portion control and presentation standards
- Assisting with stock control, ordering and kitchen organisation
- Ensuring full compliance with food hygiene and health and safety standards
- Supporting menu preparation and adapting dishes for different event styles
- Working closely with front of house and events teams to ensure smooth service delivery
About You
We are looking for an experienced Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous Chef ready to step up, with a background in banqueting, events, hotel or high volume catering environments. You will be confident working across multiple service styles and comfortable delivering consistent food for large and varied functions.
