Manpower's client is a prestigious national company who specialise in the construction trade undertaking large projects. We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Buyer for their Bedford office. The successful candidate will need to perform the role in a professional, courteous and prompt manner. You will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and have a level of self-motivation and the ability to perform with minimal supervision.

Key duties:
*Manage whole procurement process for allocated multiple projects covering plant, materials and sub-contract purchasing - at both pre & post contract award stages.
*Monitor and report by project and purchasing success/savings and contribution to profit line
*Produce tender and purchasing documents for supplier and sub-contract requirements.
*Ability to accurately analyse spend/purchasing data, with the ability to present findings in a clear and coherent manner to underpin any business recommendations.
*Co-Ordination of procurement projects involving; investigation, collation analysis and presentation of supplier and purchasing data / information
*Gain expert knowledge within our core market, ensuring ability to offer technical support at both pre and post contract award stages covering the areas of material, sub-contract & plant supply
*Regular interaction with suppliers, project teams, estimating & accounts providing support, advice and co-ordination on all purchasing and supply matters - involving some travel to projects and suppliers.
*To be able to work independently using your own initiative, but to also be able to be a key team member.
*Apply best practice parameters to the role whilst and the same time ensuring defined company delegated authority limits and group corporate governance are adhered to.
*Positively contribute to the continuous improvement of the purchasing function and business as a whole.

*Department Spend £10M.
*Sub-contract orders above £10K
*Work Within Spend Authority Levels, Adhering To Approval Process When Necessary
*No Direct Reports
*Providing Coaching & Mentoring Where Necessary

*CIPS Qualified or an interest in pursuing study route to gain qualification
*Minimum 3-5 years relevant purchasing experience within construction market
*Of Degree Caliber or Equal Industry Experience

Person Specification:
*Experience of working within a busy purchasing environment
*Background ideally in construction procurement or building material supply preferred
*Numerate with excellent attention to detail
*Strong IT skills: MS Office & Purchasing ERP
*CIPS Qualified or an interest in pursuing study route to gain qualification
*Assertive, Clear Communicator
*Highly Ethical Manner, as a minimum working within CIPS Code of Conduct, and groups corporate governance
*Strong Analytical, reporting and negotiation skills

What you get:
Mon-Fri working week from 7:45 am - 4:45 pm
Competitive Salary of £42,000.00
